Talent management guides for creators, models and brands
What a talent manager does, how it differs from an agent or agency, and how to choose.
Short answer
Talent management means looking after people who work in front of a camera or an audience and connecting them with brand campaigns. These guides explain what a talent manager does, how a manager differs from an agent or agency, and whether to sign with one, written by Calibre Associates Talent Manager Manasvi Pathak.
Search for talent management in India and much of what you find is about recruitment. This section is about the other meaning: managing creators, models and actors. It is written by Manasvi Pathak, who is Co Founder and Talent Manager at Calibre Associates and still works as talent herself.

- Why Brands Need Creators Who Understand Marketing
The creator economy has moved past reach as the main metric. Brands are now choosing creators who understand positioning, tone, and strategy, not just creators who look good on camera.
A talent manager looks after a creator, model or actor's career. That includes reading briefs, matching the person with suitable brands, handling the conversations around a booking, agreeing scope and keeping the work organised from first outreach through to delivery.
An agent mainly finds and negotiates bookings. A manager works on the wider career and usually with fewer people. An agency is a company that can do either, often for many clients. The labels overlap in India, so ask what the person actually does for you.
Only if the terms are clear and fair. Ask what the percentage is, what it applies to, how long the agreement lasts and what happens to deals you already have. A legitimate manager earns from your jobs, not from an upfront fee to join.
